{"id":62,"date":"2009-12-16T15:31:44","date_gmt":"2009-12-16T20:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heartofgraceministries.com\/blog\/?p=62"},"modified":"2013-04-20T09:17:07","modified_gmt":"2013-04-20T14:17:07","slug":"message-6-%e2%80%93-the-rest-of-the-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.heartofgraceministries.com\/blog\/devotionals\/message-6-%e2%80%93-the-rest-of-the-story\/","title":{"rendered":"The Rest Of The Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mp3jWrap_0\" class=\"mjp-s-wrapper s-graphic unsel-mjp outline verdana-mjp\" style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span id=\"playpause_wrap_mp3j_0\" class=\"wrap_inline_mp3j\" style=\"font-weight:700;\"><span class=\"group_wrap\"><span class=\"bars_mp3j\"><span class=\"loadB_mp3j\" id=\"load_mp3j_0\"><\/span><span class=\"posbarB_mp3j\" id=\"posbar_mp3j_0\"><\/span><\/span><span class=\"T_mp3j\" id=\"T_mp3j_0\" style=\"font-size:14px;\">Click To Play<\/span><span class=\"indi_mp3j\" style=\"font-size:9.8px;\" id=\"statusMI_0\"><\/span><\/span><span class=\"gfxbutton_mp3j play-mjp\" id=\"playpause_mp3j_0\" style=\"font-size:14px;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"vol_mp3j\" id=\"vol_mp3j_0\"><\/span><\/span><\/div><span class=\"s-nosolution\" id=\"mp3j_nosolution_0\" style=\"display:none;\"><\/span><script>\nMP3jPLAYLISTS.inline_0 = [\n\t{ name: \"Message%206%20-%20The%20Rest%20Of%20The%20Story\", formats: [\"mp3\"], mp3: \"aHR0cDovL2hlYXJ0b2ZncmFjZW1pbmlzdHJpZXMuY29tL2Rldm90aW9uYWxzL01lc3NhZ2UlMjA2JTIwLSUyMFRoZSUyMFJlc3QlMjBPZiUyMFRoZSUyMFN0b3J5Lm1wMw==\", counterpart:\"\", artist: \"\", image: \"\", imgurl: \"\" }\n];\n<\/script>\n\n<script>MP3jPLAYERS[0] = { list: MP3jPLAYLISTS.inline_0, tr:0, type:'single', lstate:'', loop:true, play_txt:'&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;', pause_txt:'&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;', pp_title:'', autoplay:false, download:false, vol:85, height:'' };<\/script>\n<p>The thought I have to share with you today is about the rest of the story.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2nd Corinthians 7:5-6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without fightings, within fears.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Nevertheless<\/em> God, comforted those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus.<\/p>\n<p>The world that we live in is this way; so many problems, sickness, turmoil, it is true; these do exist but then you have the word <em>nevertheless,<\/em> which means despite what has been stated there is more.\u00a0 <em>Nevertheless<\/em> is a word similar to the words but, yet, and however, which means there is something else to follow that will supersede or override or is contrary to the first part of the sentence.\u00a0 In other words, you have the first part of the story, and now you need to hear the second part of the story.<\/p>\n<p>In these verses, we find that although the first part is fear and fightings, we find the rest of the story brings us peace.\u00a0 The God that comforted those, comforteth me.<\/p>\n<p>We find in an earlier chapter (2<sup>nd<\/sup> Corinthians), chapter four, verses 8 and 9 some more verses that have two parts to the story:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTroubled but not distressed, perplexed but not in despair\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another scripture that came to me that demonstrates this so plain is the story of Jarius in <strong>Luke 8:41<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Jarius, the ruler of the synagogue, who was probably prosperous, probably active in conducting the services in the synagogue, comes to Jesus because of a great burden he is carrying. His only daughter of 12 years old is at the point of death.\u00a0 He is desperate, exhausted with worry, sick with concern.<\/p>\n<p>Does this sound familiar? Have you been there? Are you there now?<\/p>\n<p>Jarius heard Jesus was coming.\u00a0 He left his daughter\u2019s side to reach Jesus. He could have sent someone, but I think because the request was so important to Jarius, he wanted to carry it to Jesus himself.\u00a0 He had faith that Jesus could do something about his daughter.\u00a0 He falls down to his knees before Jesus with his request, and Jesus says yes I will come and they start to his house.\u00a0 But on the way, the woman with the issue of blood reaches out to Jesus and is healed.\u00a0 Before they can go any further, here comes one saying Jairus\u2019s daughter is dead and not to trouble the Master.\u00a0 I think this suggestion was not from God, but from the enemy.<\/p>\n<p>How many times has he told you it is too late? No use to pray? No use to ask others to pray? Nothing God can do now.\u00a0 I believe Jairus is standing close to Jesus when he hears the news.\u00a0 He was heartbroken.\u00a0 Perhaps, he started weeping.\u00a0 Can you just see him sag beneath the load?\u00a0 I am sure Satan told him \u201cYou should have just stayed with her instead of running to Jesus\u201d Perhaps, he wishes he had been there for her when she died.\u00a0 His faith falters, but like a friend at his side, Jesus quietly speaks, \u201cFear not, believe only; and she shall be made whole.\u201d\u00a0 He may have even put his arm around him and held him close while He spoke these words.\u00a0 No, I am sure He did.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes what we are going through may be so great that our faith may falter or become weak, but then we hear His voice.\u00a0 We feel His presence.\u00a0 He speaks peace and comfort, words of encouragement.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus refuses to leave Jarius alone with his grief, but goes with him.\u00a0 Jesus enters the house and puts the scorners, sightseers, and mourners aside and keeps those who had a sincere desire in their heart to witness the miracle of her resurrection. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, \u201cMaid, arise.\u201d And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.\u00a0 I think Jesus had her eat to prove that she was flesh and blood, and not just a spirit.<\/p>\n<p>So here is how this story could be summed up.\u00a0 Jarius\u2019s only child died when she was 12 years old, <em>nevertheless<\/em>, she was brought back to life by Jesus.\u00a0 My story would read like this.\u00a0 She was lost, a sinner, full of iniquity, worthless and hopeless;
