How Deep Is The Sea Out There?

ezekiel-47-chart-600

In the spirit of comparison I would like to share with you a thought about the perspective of “going deeper” in the Lord. This phrase carries multiple meanings across many different people. Some people consider going deeper to be related to your commitment to work in the church, while others see this more in a spiritual context and encourage submitting to the anointing of God. You could also consider the fact that some would be this to be well-versed in the word of God or to even love people in a greater way. What I write today is not to address what I feel like the depth means literally but more about the philosophy of understanding depth in God.

Ezekiel’s vision of the waters opens up the ideal of seeing different depths in the same body of water according to where you are standing. If you had to evaluate for yourself just where you feel like you are standing in the waters, where would that be? The one concept that I want to open up for all of us is that we always need to remember that there is always more to be had of God. How does one know this, you ask? First of all, I do not express enough about how that everyone with the ability to has the capacity to do more when it comes to volunteering and charitable works for your community. I could also say that when it comes to praise and worship that everyone has some room to take that risk in embracing what we feel that stirs our hearts. It would also be easy to say that we could all read the bible and pray more. If I continued this list it would continue on forever!

The point that I want to make to you today is to not be deceived into thinking that there is only so far that you CAN go. If you want more of God in a spiritual way I am happy to say that it is there for the taking! If you have the desire to do a great work in your community then there are projects you can jump in and be a part of. If you are ready to start singing and using your voice for God there is a choir/group waiting for you somewhere! Do not be satisfied with staying on the bank! As it reads in Ezekiel, “that every thing that liveth which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live…for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh” (Ezekiel 47:8).

Anywhere the rivers of the spirit of God are working is where healing can take place! Anyone that is willing to submit to a deeper work and anointing will reach out and heal this land and nation! Do you now see that potential area you can acknowledge you could be deeper in? As for me I say take the plunge!

Ezekiels Vision Of The Waters

John 7:37-39

[37] In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
[38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
[39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

The rivers of living water are representative to the spirit of God that fills the inner dwelling of our fleshly temples. It is the connection that will not only prove your love for others but for God above all. The promise of the comforter is come and here for whosoever will receive this great blessing!

Ezekiel 47:1-9

[1] Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.
[2] Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
[3] And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ancles.
[4] Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
[5] Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
[6] And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.
[7] Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.
[8] Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
[9] And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

* A note on verses 3-5

When we stay on the bank, we will never believe receive the salvation of the Lord. When we are in ankle deep, we receive the sweet initial spirit of God (mixed with the faith we stepped out with of course) drawing us to have salvation. There is more though! When we are in knee-deep, we do the best we can with the Holy Spirit as it was given with salvation, but without the fullness of the Holy Ghost. There must be more of the spirit of God and anointing in your life to be able to overcome and have dominion over the influence and temptations of the world today. When we are waist-deep we have that fullness and can feel the potential for more but yet have a fear of going deeper. God wants us to be more faithful and launch out into the deeper things in Him. He did not put within us the spirit of fear, but of sound mind! Take off out into the next step of your life with a deeper anointing. How much confidence could you have (good question!) with a stronger anointing? As we step out more and begin to be in over our heads, we are no longer in control and the spirit is in complete control!

Acts 1:4-5

[4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
[5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

The promise of that power is what we need to use to sustain our every day victory!

A Time Of Love

There was a time in my life when I was all alone.  I was in darkness.  I was cast out for dead.  No one cared for my soul.  I was cold, shivering, dying in my own iniquities.  Have you ever had a natural experience like this?  Perhaps you got wet in a thunderstorm or in the snow and your clothes become damp and clingy.  You are so cold that you are shivering.  You only want one thing and that is to be warm and snug.  You are like a baby wanting someone to comfort it.  Then all of a sudden someone spreads a warm, soft blanket over you.  All of a sudden you are warm and dry.  You feel comforted and at peace.  This is what Christ does for you when he saves your soul.  He spreads his skirt of love over you and covers your nakedness.  All that misery and wretchedness is gone.  It is like going from being naked, cold, wet, and shivering to being covered by the softest, warmest fur blanket that you could wish for.  It happens in an instant.  The change that salvation brings doesn’t take days or years, it happens the very moment that you accept Jesus as your Savior.  “Whoosh”, just like spreading a blanket.  Thank you, Jesus, for covering my nakedness, my sin, my iniquity.

Ezekiel 16:4-8

[4] And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
[5] None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
[6] And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
[7] I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
